I am running Windows XP pro and have used “Google Desktop” without any problems until recently. Now, when I start to type in the ‘google search box’ on the task bar it ‘freezes’ and causes cursor to become unresponsive to in the task bar and eventually unresponsive to all open programs. This phenomenon seems to correspond to installing a windows security patch a few weeks ago.

Also, I am suspicious that MS might be sabotaging Google because the timing of this problem corresponds to MS’s big introduction of its new desktop search tool. Windows ‘Live’.

Is anyone else having this same trouble running the Google desktop search tool?

I’ve not heard of any other problems being reported. I also kinda doubt that MS is sabotaging Google. The engineering folks at Google are pretty sharp (some of ‘em even used to work with Microsoft) and if they suspected anything like sabotage, it would be all over the evening news and become a PR nightmare for MS.

I’d suggest you start by deleting cookies, doing a disk cleanup, then defrag. See if Google Desktop has released any updates. If the problem persists, remove the security patch(es). If the problem continues I might contact Google for their expert advise.

I’m planning on making a website about basketball tips using Site Build It! I want to know how well it do (considering my tips and writing are very good) based upon competition and demand? I’ve already used google ad-words keyword tool and it seems like it isn’t that bad. Will I be able to ads on my sites with topics about basketball? Also, how many visitors do i need a day in order to make decent income?

All your answers are already in SBI! From your control panel scroll down to where it says Traffic states, all your info is there. Check out the sbi forums, read all the manuals – so much info with sbi. Its about 100 traffic a day till need to monetize. Yes you can have google ads. Also are the keyword research tools showing competion/supply/demand.

Although i went to internet options and deleted swerch history and cookies i still find some of the past search items on google tool bar before i type.Can you please tell me how can erase all that i have searched?My parents dont like the stuff i read on philosophy and other such sites.Please help me.Thankyou.

It’s a Google help page. It even has videos on how to delete the history on IE search bar.

Why is it that so many people are asking questions on this board that can be answered by simply typing keywords into google? You have the worlds most powerful research tool sitting in front of you, but instead you decide to ask people you don’t know for the answers. Is this just a sign of how truly helpless people have become in todays society. That they need other people to Google their homework assignments for them. I fear our future if this is indicative of the next generations ability to work.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Sometimes the best answer is simply: google it

http://www.misterhomebiz.com How To Use Google Keyword Tool To Find the Best Longtail Keyword Phrases. I recently came across a marketing strategy that exemplifies what I believe is the future for many Internet marketers.

Several years ago, as online marketing became a popular form of monetizing various home business opportunities and affiliate product offers, Internet entreprenuers came to terms with the concept of niche marketing.

In a nutshell, this transformation took place because people realized the competition was too tough for broad keywords. Aggressive marketers, using a strategy Jay Conrad Levinson coined guerilla marketing, began to exploit the traffic available in niche areas.

While traffic in these guerilla markets was considerably lighter than that in the broader markets, Chris Anderson taught us in his book The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More, that a market existed in these narrowly defined areas that was not being served by the Fortune 500 companies.

For online entrepreneurs, this shift in marketing strategy relied upon long tail keywords to generate organic search traffic. And it worked great for a few years.

However, we are now moving beyond this, to what I call nano-niche marketing (NNM).

NNM asks the marketer to look at his or her long tail keywords and take it to another level altogether.

You can take your marketing to another level by finding subsets, otherwise known as smaller niches, of your long tail keywords.

For example, while the long tail keyword phrase make money online may have worked last year, the NNM marketer is now going after subsets of this with phrases like make easy money online at home.

Sounds crazy, but while the search traffic with phrases like the one above may be sparse, your blog, article, and website visitors will be highly focused. They are not just looking to make money online, they want to do it at home and they want it to be easy.

If your product offer is highly focused to capitalize on that very narrow niche, you have a winner and will be able to make easy money online at home.

Most of the rankings checkers only provide you with top 20 or 100, what if my site is within 1,000,000 for a specific keyword? how will i know its exact position?

Use Google Webmaster Tools for your site. It will show your positions in the search engine and show which keywords you show for.
